PLC Programmer
Location: Magna, Elsendorf- Germany
PLC Programmer will join our client's automation team, specializing in automotive industry projects. This position is open to both permanent and temporary candidates who will work onsite at our project locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, testing, and commissioning PLC control systems, with a mandatory requirement for expertise in Siemens S8.3 PLCs. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality automation solutions that meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
*Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens S8.3 PLC control systems for automotive manufacturing processes.
*Develop and implement control logic, ladder diagrams, function block diagrams, and HMI interfaces for automated systems.
*Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers to define project requirements and create automation solutions.
*Conduct PLC programming, simulation, and debugging to ensure proper functionality before commissioning.
*Perform onsite system installation, commissioning, and testing of automated systems at automotive plants, ensuring full integration with production lines.
*Modify existing PLC programs to optimize performance or accommodate process changes in automotive production systems.
*Work with automation devices including robotics, sensors, drives, and communication networks (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
*Troubleshoot and maintain automation systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
*Create and maintain detailed documentation, including program backups, technical drawings, and operator manuals.
*Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users on PLC systems and their operation.
*Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines during all project phases.
Qualifications & Skills:
*Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
*Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PLC programming within the automotive or industrial automation industry.
*Mandatory expertise in Siemens S8.3 PLCs, with a proven ability to program, troubleshoot, and commission systems.
*Additional experience with PLC platforms such as Siemens (S7, TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley (RSLogix/Studio 5000), Mitsubishi, or Schneider Electric is a plus.
*Experience with robotics integration, motion control, and industrial communication networks.
*Hands-on experience with HMI/SCADA systems like WinCC, FactoryTalk, or Ignition.
*Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control system diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience with automotive manufacturing processes, including body assembly, paint shops, or powertrain systems.
*Familiarity with robotic systems (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC) and their integration with PLCs.
*Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
*Certifications in automation/PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) are highly valued.
